

"The Bride of Dracula" is the only episode of SM&HAF we cover in this podcast episode, regardless of which number it is for you. We were all in the same room watching on a TV when we were recording, and the TV said it was episode 17, so that's what we went with. Something something Doofenshmirtz, something something two nickels. It is also overlong, stupidly plotted and incoherent.This week, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1981 to pick, for the second time in the history of this podcast, an episode of an early-80s Spider-Man animated series in which a villain kidnaps a superhero and Spidey has to chase that villain all the way to Europe to rescue the other superhero from a creepy old castle. The film has state of the art special effects and it has plenty of Michael Bay's trademarked directorial flourishes. She must find and use Merlin's staff to prevent the planet being destroyed by Cybertron.

Somewhere along the line Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) comes in possession of an ancient Transformers talisman and then bought over to the UK by Sir Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins) where he is introduced to an Oxford professor, Viviane Wembly the last living descendant of Merlin. In present day Earth, Transformers are declared outlaws by all governments of the world and a special unit is created kill them but still more alien robots arrive. Merlin is later warned that an evil entity will come for the staff. The film starts off in legendary Arthurian times as twelve Transformers hidden on Earth give drunk Merlin an alien staff, they combine into a dragon to help King Arthur beat the Saxons. The fifth Transformers movies has four writers, including Oscar winning hack Akiva Goldsman and has six people who edited it and it is still a bloated mess. He moves by night wanting to drink your Energon, he's Draculus the Universal Monsters x Transformers Collaborative version of the classic Bela Lugosi horror character, Dracula Thanks to Amazon.
